Greetings from Yaroslavl! Internet access has been non-existent and our days have been very busy (and fun)! Apologies for not much news, but everyone is fine and having a wonderful time. The girls were amazing in several magnificent performances (one of which, with the Yaroslavl symphony orchestra, was covered on television news, so the girls were thrilled when they were recognized as "the American choir from television" as we toured and shopped in the city the next day). The days have been hot and sunny (today it was 100 degrees!), so our walking and exploring museums and cathedrals (and singing!) has made us all pretty tired (and happy). We leave in about an hour for our overnight train to St. Petersburg -- after so much sunshine, shopping, and sightseeing, the girls will certainly sleep (we are positive this will happen!), even though the skies darken for only about four hours each night. And the time on the train tonight means Mark will at last have some time to write a lengthier message.
